Full Plot Summary

The story is set in the vibrant yet dark world of 1950s Tamil cinema. T.K. Mahadevan (Dulquer Salmaan), an aspiring actor who rose to superstardom under the guidance of his mentor and legendary director Ayya (Samuthirakani), finds himself consumed by ego and pride. The conflict begins when Mahadevan insists on changing the title of Ayya's passion project from 'Shaantha' to 'Kaantha' to suit his own image. This simple act of defiance spirals into a web of crime, betrayal, and professional sabotage. Inspector Devaraj (Rana Daggubati), a sharp police officer, enters the scene to investigate a series of mysterious events that threaten to destroy both the star and the director. It is a cinematic tribute to the golden era of cinema, based loosely on the life of superstar M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar.
